The Range
A quorum of club officers and directors met yesterday, Saturday - December 1, 2012, and voted to extend the present December 3, 2012 range escrow deadline until the Muscle Shoals Utility Board can make a decision relative to their selling the land on Gnat Pond Road near Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The last report we received from them notified us that they were still awaiting an appraisal of the subject property.
$68,000 is currently in the range escrow. Many contributors to this fund have said that they would rather have a range than their money back and several non-contributors have said that they will purchase one of the membership options if they have a bit more time. Of course, any contributor wishing to leave the escrow in this interim period may request his or her $975.00 or $475.00 refund. The escrow will end at the time of the successful or unsuccessful conclusion of negotiations for the Gnat Pond property. If the property is purchased, the escrow will be closed and the funds will be remitted for purchase and development of the property. If no agreement can be reached, the escrow will be closed and the funds will be paid back to the contributors.

Compliant Firearms Types at the Existing Sheffield Range
Until further notice, here is a list of the types of firearms that may be fired at the Sheffield Range:
Rimfire rifles and handguns
Straight wall cased centerfire handguns and pistol caliber rifles (Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum, Rossi .357 Magnum, .30 M1 Carbine, etc.)
Muzzleloaders
Shotguns
Prohibited list:
Centerfire rifles or handguns firing bottlenecked highpower rifle cartridges (.308 Winchester, .30-06, .243. .223, etc.) including big bore straight wall cased rifle cartridges such as the .45-70, .444 Marlin, .375 Winchester, etc..
