MOUNTAIN SHOTS

The Meeting
44 NASA, Inc. members attended the club meeting on June 30, 2013. It was held at Edgemont United Methodist Church.
President Dwight Pilkilton called the meeting to order and asked for the minutes, treasurer's report, and a range construction report.
Ulus Farris, the club's secretary, presented the minutes from the last full club meeting that was held in August of 2012.
Andrew Butler, the club's treasurer, reported that the club would probably have about $4000 t0 $6000 remaining after the range was finished and operating in July. That does not take into consideration any new members' dues collected (if that transpires).
Director James Day brought everyone up to date on the range construction and gave an estimated completion date of August 1st. He cautioned that, his estimate was highly contingent on weather, and the various contractors' scheduling issues.
President Dwight touched on a few past and present security issues and then moved on to new business.
The following motions were made, discussed, and carried:
The club will change from a January 1 - December 31 operating year to one that begins on May 1 and ends on April 30.
In light of the change above, a motion was made and carried to extend any officers' or directors' year end expirations from December 31, 2013 to April 30, 2014.
Willie Rhodes was re-elected to the expired One Year Director slot.
All new members must have a current pistol permit or be a sworn officer of the law. The proof of a recent FFL firearms purchase will no longer suffice.
The number of annual members was capped at 200, thus the total membership is capped at 300.
The $500/$100 membership option was capped at 50.
So, in theory, we could have 100 $1,000 life members, 50 $500/$100 members, and 150 $200 annual members.
It was approved to hold 4 induction days by the end of April, 2014. The only method to join the club is to come to one of these four meetings, complete an application, present a pistol permit, appear before an interview panel, be approved, complete a safety briefing, and then pay dues and collect a key and membership card. There will be no mailed in applications or waiting lists.
Guest rules will remain the same as before - no more that two non-family members, unlimited family members, but not more than the member can control, and the guests must remain on the same range as the member.
Non-members or guests will have to pay a match fee at all NASA matches. These fees will be modest and they will be set by the various match directors.
A brief officers and directors meeting followed the regular meeting to set the four new member processing dates and times. These are:
Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
All four meetings will be held at the Edgemont United Methodist Church multipurpose building.
Dwight asked us all to give a big thank you to Florence Police Sgt. Hal Howard for providing meeting security, to Edgemont United Methodist Church for letting us use their facility, and to James Day for his untiring dedication to our range construction.
The officers and directors extended a special thanks to all of members that attended the meeting.
