Sunday (time change weekend) I went with some friends to Cane Creek Preserve. This preserve is very close to our property, if you look at the pistol bays and turn right about 30 degrees the property would be on the other side of the mountain. This is a beautiful preserve with hiking trails and camping area.

This property is owned by two retired school teachers who openly welcome the public to responsibly enjoy this oasis. All they ask is you check in at their home and get the loan of a walking stick and map and leave nothing behind. They even provide water and porta potties along the way. When Krista and I checked in we were talking to the lady in charge (I’m sorry I forgot her name) and when I told her our shooting range was close by she got serious for a sec and said "We were all worried to death when we heard that range was going in, but we never even know it's there...do you know who I could talk to in charge of the range?"
I told her I was current president and how could I help, she was worried because she thought it was an open facility and could be used by anyone anytime, she was quite relieved when I told her about the range and our rules and how carefully we worked to maintain a civil facility. She was very relieved to hear how careful we were and as she said only once in a while can she hear anything at all from the rage and that is rarely. So we have a good neighbor and someone who hopefully spread the good word about our club. I can only see us growing from this point going forward.
Sincerely
