MOUNTAIN SHOTS

Short and Sweet
We are up and running. We are methodically dealing with our water runoff issues. It may take up to another $5000 to both build steps down from the parking lot to the range and construct the channels, walls, and terrain changes necessary to help the water run to where we want it to.
We have completed the scheduled 2013 membership renewals and new member induction meetings and here are the numbers:
Life Members = 98 (two remaining)
$500/$100 Members = 17 (33 remaining)
Annual Members = 56 (94 remaining)
Total Members = 171 (129 remaining)
We have $12,730 in the bank. The two major expenditures remaining for this year are the aforementioned $5000 estimate for range completion and the annual insurance premium of approximately $2000.
The portable toilet service is $83 a month and the dumpster service is going to be around $60 a month.
At the current enrollment of non-life members, we would collect $12,900 annually, beginning in the late spring of 2014.
The club leaders will be meeting soon to schedule future new member induction dates.
Safety Note
Please remember that it is still against club policy to shoot at intermediate distance targets. The hard white gravel on the range surfaces could create some nasty ricochets, so we all need to shoot directly into the berms.
A Final Comment
I received a call from a member today, and he was under the impression that the entrance road was still in the condition it was back before we put up the gate. He was basically fearful of taking the time and gas to drive out to the range and not be able to drive down to the parking lot.
Folks, it is simply not like that anymore.
Drive out to the range, use your key to unlock the gate, and confidently drive down into the parking lot and later when exiting, keep a good and steady pace up the hill and then smoothly make the right turn at the top - don't stop or slow down on the hill. ALSO, the gravel road surfaces are getting better and better as they pack down with use.
Retired, disabled, work nights?
