Sunny, cool and breezy morning at the NASA Crooked Oak range. "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...." set up the target stands, backers and added the targets. However, with short staples and push-pins, the winds did their level best to push the backers off the target stands at the most inappropriate times. Several of us had to resort to zip ties before it was over. Anyway, there were such a small number of us that we easily dealt with these inconveniences. Dwight said that this was the first occasion that he could remember where all participants received medals.

Bill Parkhurst - Ruger 10/22, Leupold 3-9x33 AO, CCI SV, 566-15x - Silver 98-4x 97-5x 94-0x 90-1x 93-3x 94-2x 4. Mike - Savage MKII, Bushnell, CCI Tact. 550-6x - Bronze 96-2x 88-0x 89-0x 90-2x 94-2x 93-0x While we wished there had been more of us, we were all glad we came! Dwight suggested that, from now through next April, we will change to our winter schedule (9:30AM set-up and 10AM start) for our Saturday morning events. See you next Saturday for our 50/25 silhouette match. Be there or be square!

Congrats to Dwight, Randy, Bill, and Mike. Well done!
As to the shooting schedule ......
Lot's of things to do in the afternoon for most, so I think I will keep the 8:30 AM set up and 9:00 AM start times for the 50/25, 25/25 and Raptor throughout the year. Heck, a well attended 25/25 - RFRF double header would not end until after 1:00 with a 10:00 start time. In my experience, even with the present 8:30 set up times, our early birds, i.e. Willie, Ulus, etc., usually have the racks up and painted well before 8:30. I totally see how the later time will be better for CMP Sporter and Rimfire Benchrest. That is why I post on the Calendar for an interested party to check with the match manager (Dwight, Ulus, IDPA Rory, or 3-Gun Jody) for a start time on those events.

Thanks Danny for the excellent clarification. Perhaps we could put those starting times on the monthly calendar so we don't get confused. Dwight was speaking specifically of the CMP for the later starting time and not necessarily for any of the other events. Makes sense to keep the silhouette shoots earlier (8:30AM set-up and 9:00AM start) as they tend to bring more participants. The Bench Rest Boys (Peary, Ulus, Byram and Willie) can weigh-in on their start and the Raptor Match folks could, perhaps, also benefit for a later start time.

Sorry Josh and I missed out. We had an annual dove shoot in TN. Great shooting to all. Will see you at the 50/25 tomorrow.
