Dear Friends,
Relatively cool (75 to 80 F), overcast, calm and HUMID (80+%) this morning. One of those days you don't have to do anything to sweat... Two of NASA's best shooters - and two of NASA's best participants - came out for a good ol' time. David Malone was already there with everything setup when I arrived at 8:30 AM and then Andrew Butler and Chicago Mike came in shortly thereafter. We started about 9:30ish and finished up about two hours later.
As expected, David and Andrew were the class of our CMP experience today while Bill and Mike groaned excessively to get into and out of those tortured prone and sitting positions. Mike dislikes the prone most of all whereas Bill dislikes sitting.
The scores were as follow:
David Malone - 583-20X - Silver - 100-6, 98-2. 98-3, 91-2, 97-3, 99-4 - Custom Ruger 10/22, Leupold VX2 4-12x40 AO, CCI Standard Velocity
Andrew Butler - 565-13X - Bronze - 90-0,98-1,98-5, 94-2, 93-2, 92-3 - CZ 452 UL, Simmons .22Mag 3-9x33, Fiocchi Standard Velocity
Bill Parkhurst - 542-10X - 96-2, 97-4, 93-2, 82-0, 89-1, 85-1 - Voere 2107, Clearidge 3-9x32 AO, Norma Tac-22
Chicago Mike - 528-4X - 80-0, 79-0, 93-2, 86-1, 94-0, 96-1 - Savage MKII, Simmons .22Mag 3-9x33, Federal Auto Match
Previously, we have been using the 2011 scoring ranges to award Club (non-sanctioned) match medals. However those scoring ranges are now obsolete with the latest 2015 scoring ranges reflecting much tougher scoring requirements. T-Class, for example, requires 7 more points for Gold (from 577 to 584), 6 more for Silver (from 565 to 571) and 10 more for Bronze (from 546 to 556). David just missed the Gold; Andrew scoring in the upper middle of the Bronze range and Bill & Mike well off the pace.
Good to get back in the CMP grind where you have to develop prone, sitting/kneeling and offhand skills. I, for one, can certainly use the work!
