Four went to Perry from NASA, Inc.; Dwight Pilkilton, David Hollimon, Thomas Reed, and myself (Danny Creasy). It was my fourth trip, Dwight's third, and the first for David and Thomas. Dave, Dwight and I shot in both T and O Class while Thomas shot in T Class. Our scores can be found in this link.:

The scores required to medal are:
----------------------------------T-Class------------------O-Class
Gold--------------------------578 or higher----------567 or higher
Silver--------------------------566-577-----------------548-566
Bronze-------------------------545-565-----------------523-547
Thomas had to be at work bright and early this morning. So, he had to head home around noon yesterday. Thomas is a new NASA member and has been shooting our matches since March. He is an enthusiastic shooter and a hard working one with a great sense of humor. His goal was to go to Perry, shoot his best, and have fun. I think he achieved those goals. Hey, bringing home a bronze from Perry on your first trip is no small achievement. Most of yesterday's 530 shooters came home with no medal at all.
Dwight and David (our club president and vice president) are somewhere in Tennessee on their way home at this moment. David would have loved to have posted his first ever score of 580 or higher yesterday. But, it was not to be. His offhand shooting was off its usual mark and it cost him. However, his solid shooting in the earlier strings kept him in the running for a bronze. He will post that 580 or better next year. A nicer gentleman you'll never meet.
Dwight's goal was to earn his first gold medal from Camp Perry. Well, how about two, Mr. Prez? Yes, he medaled in both T and O Class and this in spite of being quite sick. You are a tough bird Dwight. Congrats and hats off on some fine shooting. Dwight posted the highest T and O Class Camp Perry CMP National Sporter Match scores of any North Alabama Shooting Association representative either past or present.
Karen and I have stopped in Columbus to spend some time with our daughters. I posted the lowest gold medal score of the match in T-Class. But, I'm as proud of it as any of my numerically higher gold scores from the past. In either O or T Class, I had no "Camp Perry Gaffs" - no double feeds, no cross shots, no running out of time in rapidfire, and no big bad wind and rain tails of woe. My shooting was simply not as tight as it has been in years past. With the CMP Sporter year that I have been having, my goal was to avoid anything stupid, spend some quality time with my family, team members, and CMP Sporter friends, and bring home a gold medal for the 4th year in a row. I'm as happy as a bird with a french fry. Did yall know that O Class is hard (silver)? ;D
Dwight has a ton of pics and Karen took some as well. I'm going to chill out for a while and then we will post some pics and more details later.
