Looks like I missed a good match, plus no turkey. It rained on me in Tennessee all day. I will probably miss the matches this whole month due to turkey season. My wife doesn't like to hunt deer, but does like to turkey hunt, so I take her! From the looks of the other posts, I would like to see this match again so I can shoot. Looks like there was some good competition and lots of fun.

Okay shooters, several of you have told me that you want the Raptor as a regular match. Here is the problem. We now have regularly scheduled rimfire matches on every Saturday morning:
1st - 50/50 Sporter 2nd - 25/50 Pistol 3rd - USBR (Rimfire Benchrest) 4th - CMP Sporter
I picked a rare (overstatement) 5th Saturday to run the test match on.
What would some of you suggest?
Here are some vetos from me:
Sunday afternoons are out. I am not going to hold a rifle match on the 100 yard range with the afternoon sun quartering in from the front left. And, I don't want to take anymore Sunday afternoon highpower range time away from the 150+ members that enjoy occasionally shooting their deer or varmint rifle on that range.
Peary suggested we have it at the same time as the Pistol Match and have the shooters move back and forth if they so choose. No offense Peary, but I cannot stand this multiple event stuff at the same time. It effects everybody's performance adversely and it flat wears out the folks running the matches.
So, the only options it seems are:
Have the Raptor Match and one of the matches listed above - opt out for the other - every other month.
or
Just shoot the Raptor on 5th Saturdays. That would be May 31st, August 31st, and November 29th.
or
Replace one of the present matches with the Raptor and move that displaced match to the 5th Saturday dates.
Thoughts and suggestions?
Oh, and please don't suggest one of those anonymous forum polls with the color coded bars. The only vote that counts with me is from somebody willing to post on this thread and state their preference and the reason for it or call me and let me pass along their thoughts.

I think the 25/50 could be alternated with the Raptor ...every other time from one to the other...this is just my thought

Like the rest of the participants, I thought the raptor match was a lot of fun. However, I'm not hossin' to displace the current rimfire line-up just yet. The 25-50 is the only pistol game going, and the other matches have been filling the rifle racks to overflowing. I'll shoot it whenever it is offered, but my vote would be for 5th Saturday's right now. Thanks for asking....

Thanks Dwight and David for the input.
David I agree about 25/50 in that it is the only handgun practice I get anymore.
Hope some more folks respond.
The weather forecast for Saturday looks good. See yall at the 50/50.

As much as I enjoyed the challenge of the 100yd and the little chickens, I don't want to bump any existing match for the time being. I would say stick with the fifth Saturdays for now.

well I like the match ,my kind of shooting what I'm use to from ROTC ,but I like hand guns all so .whatever y'all decide is cool with me ,,, maybe add a few paint balls on empty .45 cases@100 yds . for the tie breaker.. i tried it today @ 50' and 100' @ 50 its not hard at all but @ 100 thats a whole nother game, it can be done but you better have a good scope.a .68 inch target with a .22 @ 100 yards thats a challenge! P.S. what if say 3-4 guys wanna take a few racks ,maybe make a few more and shoot little chickens after we shoot say one of the smaller matches ? it could be a volunteer type thing 1 of us (not me lol) could manage running a 4-5 man match maybe 2 racks so not to tie up the whole 100 range maybe on the flat side where the grass is i have 3-4 mats and most everyone had 1 sat so that might could work.any ideas ,feed back ?
