How about a little Sunday afternoon match on the rifle range?
50/25 equipment rules apply but this match is for optically sighted rifles only.
We will set up two silhouette racks with 12 Rams on each (four rows of three) as close to the long range berm as possible.
Two shooters will come to the line with their rimfire sporters and they will have five minutes and 15 rounds to engage their respective racks from the offhand shooting position.
Upon completion of their time or ammunition, they will walk down and reset the racks and after their return, the next two shooters will come to the line.
After everyone has fired one rack, we will all repeat a second time. One's score will be the aggregate number of rams left standing and the low score will win.
We will set up at 11:00 AM and a sighting in period will start at 12:00 PM. Shooters will be allowed 10 rounds and 10 rounds only for sighting in.
For those shooters that straggle in, we will insert some sighting in sessions as needed.
The rams are tough offhand targets at 90+ yards. Remember the key word BRASS and hope for light winds.

Randy King is not only the 2012 Sporter Master but the Rama Lama Ding Dong King as well  . Seriously though, he smoked us all on this cold and rainy afternoon in our first attempt at this experimental match. Well done Randy. A shooter had 5 minutes to engage 12 ram silhouettes offhand at 96 yards with 15 rounds. His score was the # of rams left standing. Each shooter completed the course of fire twice for an aggregate score. Place, 1st rack's score (# of rams left standing), 2nd rack, overall, shooter, rifle, scope, ammo 1st, 3, 4, 7, Randy King, Savage Mk II, Tasco 6-24, Federal 510 2nd 6, 5, 11, David Hollimon, CZ 452 Silhouette, Weaver V-16, CCI MiniMag 2nd 4, 7, 11, Danny Creasy, Anschutz 1710, Weaver V-16, SK Rifle Match 3rd 5, 7, 12, B J kavanaugh, Savage Mk II FV, Barska Varmint 6-24X42 4th 7, 8, 15, Mike, Savage Mk II, Bushnell, Federal Auto Match 5th 8, 12, 20, Ulus Farris, CZ 452 American, Weaver 44/40 6.5-20, Federal Auto Match Only six shooters ventured out on this dreary day to brave what proved to be a very challenging shooting game. Thanks for participating today fellas and thanks for all the help with putting up and taking down the steel. B J, tell your father in law that we appreciated his attendance today. Good luck to you both with that Winchester 1890 project. I may not quite have been up to the task today, but my rifle was - check out the target I used to zero it at 96 yards yesterday. It was previously sighted in at 50 yards. I took it up 16 clicks and shot the first group. I was tickled with that first 7/10ths of an inch five shot group - the higher ones were fired as I endeavored to strike pay dirt in the little black diamond: Merry Christmas folks.

Good shooting Randy. I was planning on making this game, even to the point of going this week and sighting my rifle in for the 100 yards. After I got out of church and experienced the wet, cold drizzle, I decided I did not want to subject my rifle to this type of weather. It would never forgive me. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
