I just purchased a Stevens 200 with a 9x50 scope. scope set at the store out of the box I am impressed with the rifle. No bells but performs just like a you would expect. Shooting 1972 MATCH ammo it was money well spent. Trigger at 6 lbs and recoil a little heavy. But to be expected with a 6.5 lb rifle.

Yep, featherweight .308s can knock you around. I almost bought one of the little Ruger 77 Mannlichers in .308 a couple of years ago. Easy on the eyes but tough on the shoulder. I read a review of one of those Stevens 200s a while back and it performed quite well in that article. Danny

Yup savage puts all the money in the bbl. They aint fancy but they usually shoot with (or outshoot just as often) most rifles at 2-3 times their cost.
