Dear Friends,
In retrospect, it probably wasn't a good idea to paint the faded-white critters a dark shade of yellow (or burnt umber) but, at the time, we thought it would be an improvement. It turned out to be a major pain but we shouldered on anyway. I used orange-ish sunglasses and - when the critters were in the sun - they did offer some improvement. But we all thought that the overall contrast was better in the shade. As the berm behind the target racks dried out it was almost impossible to see our targets with open- or peep-sighted rifles. The folks that brought scoped rifles were the only ones that had good scores. We were specially enthusiastic about seeing Randy King for the first time in many moons! The weather was breezy, just-right temperature-wise and intermittently cloudy.
