Hello, my rimfire rifle friends! Bill has a scheduling conflict tomorrow and must miss the 50/25 Match. I will officiate the match. I'm shaking things up via an increased round count. Rest assured, you will enjoy this iteration of our beloved sporter match. We tried it a couple of times several years ago with exciting results. Note: Bring 100 rounds per rifle instead of the usual 30. However, you may not need to shoot that many. The same 25 targets The same 50-yard distance to targets The same three classes of rifles (only one per class). Time changes to 12-minutes Rounds available changes to 100 Each shooter has 12 minutes to engage their 25 silhouettes in the order of their choosing. Each shooter finishes their string in one of three ways: When they've cleared their rack of silos. When their ammunition is gone. When their time expires. The shooters with the most remaining live rounds are the winners. In the case of tied live-round counts, the shooter clearing their rack in the shortest time wins. The range officer will jot down each shooter's finishing time. I made a YouTube Video a few years ago to demonstrate this version of the 50/25 Match. A picture is worth a thousand words, so check out this link: youtu.be/vaZ4K0foLJg?si=N8TAAz1nj-yL-IWNMost folks noted two positive differences between this 100-round match and the traditional 30-round one: the lessened pressure of having more chances to take out all of their targets and the enhanced training effect of more shots. I hope to see you tomorrow morning by the 9:00 a.m. start time.
