It was pouring down rain at 5:30 this morning with lightning and thunder. Tony wrote and asked if I was going to call the match. I wrote him back and told him that I would be at the range at 7:30 and see who shows up and what they want to do.
Got there at 7:33 and Tony and Anedra had already opened the gate and gone in (as usual). No thunder by then - just rain. We talked for about 15 minutes and nobody else showed. So, we pulled out the sporters and started plinking at a spinner that I stuck out in the muddy berm. David King sloshed in and started shooting his CZ FS from a bench and then Randy King and the Butler family showed up. By then, the rain had let up and I new we just had to shoot a match.
Not sure about the time length of the gap in the rain, I decided to cut the round count for the match in half. Each shooter would only engage one rack of twenty-five silhouettes instead of the usual two. It went well and a few even shot both classes. Here are the scores:
Place, score, shooter, rifle, scope, ammo
Telescopic sight class
1st, 4, Randy King, Savage Mk II, Tasco WC, Wolf MT
2nd, 6, Reece Stewart, CZ 452 Varmint, Bushnell, Fed 510
2nd, 6, Danny Creasy, Kimber Hunter, Weaver V-16, SK rifle Match
3rd, 10LC, Tony Gilmore, CZ American, Weaver R4, CCI Blazer
4th, 11LC, Peary Willard, Remington 581L, Barska 3-12X40, Fed 510
5th, 12, David King, CZ 452 FS, Burris 6, Wolf MT
6th, 13LC, John Butler, Browning A Bolt, Weaver K-4, CCI Blazer
7th, 18, Mike Watson, CZ American, Bushnell, CCI Mini-Mag
7th, 18, Keith McBrayer, CZ Scout, Burris, Aguila
8th, 21, Anedra Gilmore, CZ Scout, Simmons 3-9, CCI Blazer
9th, 21, Joyce Butler, CZ Scout, Simmons 3-9, Winchester Wildcat
Open sight class
1st, 8, Randy King, CZ Standard, Wolf MT
1st, 8, John Butler, CZ 452 UltraLux, CCI Blazer
2nd, 14LC, Tony Gilmore, Remington 512X, CCI Blazer

Congratulations to Randy King for winning T Class and tieing for 1st in O Class with John Butler. Well done gentlemen.
Hey, several folks seemed to prefer this reduced round count format. Let's try this version in June as well. Thoughts were that with folks shooting in two to three (new peep sight) classes, the 25 shot game will make the match less fatiguing and more fun.
