Ricky King placed first in two of the three classes today and tied for second in the other. His Open Sight Class score of 2X2 was impressive. Dwight and I were talking at lunch and wondered if it was an O Class record. So, before typing in today's results, I went back and checked the monthly scores.
Dwight and I tied for first once both shooting my CZ Special with scores of 5X5 in April of 2011. James and I posted 5X5s again in January of 2012 and he did it again in March of 2012. I posted a 4X4 in November 2011. I shot a 3X1 on February 5, 2011 but that doesn't really count in this comparison because it was fired using the the original rack set up and scoring system with big chickens in row two and turkeys in row four with a single little chicken in the middle (hitting it gave me the "1"). Thus, Ricky did set the new club record in the Open Sight Class of 50/25 Sporter today. Congratulations Ricky.
Thomas Reed posted a personal best today of 6X6. Well done Thomas.
Bill Parkhurst tied with Ricky for first in Peep Sight Class. I believe that would be a new personal best for him. Nice shooting with that little Winchester Bill.
Dwight concentrated on his two nemeses this morning, turkeys and chickens, and knocked them all down, only to leave five pigs standing. His unusual score of 5X0, yielded the winning Scope Class score of the day. Nice chicken shooting Dwight.
Nice to have Jack Brewster and crew join us again.
We shot Randy King's 50/25 fun team match again after the regular match was over. Two man teams came to the line with scoped rifles and 25 rounds each. They had four minutes to engage the entire rack. An initial tie score of five for two of the teams was broken by adding a tie breaker in which the two contending teams were given a minute and five rounds for each rifle to taking on the vexing chickens. Congrats to Ulus and David.
1st Place Team - Ulus Farris and David Malone - scores = 5 and 2 in the tiebreaker.
2nd Place Team - John Warffeli and Dwight Pilkilton - scores = 5 and 3 in the tiebreaker.
3rd Place Team - Thomas Reed and Peary Willard - score = 7.
