Eleven shooters participated in the Mini Sporter Master Match this morning. It was hot but we finished just after 10 AM, packed up, and got everybody sent off for BBQ and fireworks.
Here are the shooters in alphabetical order and their various rifles, scopes, and ammunitions:
Grayson Campbell, Ruger 10/22, Icon, CCI SV Danny Creasy, Ruger 77/22 VBZ, Weaver T-36, SK Std Plus James Day, Savage Mk II, Bushnell 22 Mag 3-9, CCI SV Ulus Farris, Savage Mk II GV, Muller Target 8-32, SK Std Plus David Hollimon, CZ American, Weaver 4-16, Wolf MT Ricky King, Savage Mk II, Shooteredge 6-18X40, Wolf MT Benjamin Loden, CMMG MK-4, Schmidt & Bender 3-12X50, CMP White Box Gary Loden, Ruger 10/22, Wever V-16, Wolf MT Dwight Pilkilton, Ruger 10/22, Weaver V-16, Wolf MT Roddie Stewart, Ruger 10/22, Center Point 4-16, CCI SV Peary Willard, Savage Mk II FV, Tasco World Class 3-12, Fed 714
Contrasting strategies today. For example, Dwight went with his strengths and chose his strongest offhand and rapidfire rifle while I chose my best benchrest sporter set up, a big heavy Ruger 77/22 VBZ(8 lbs 8 ozs on the nose) with a fixed 36 scope. Ricky and David chose medium weight bolt action sporters with variable scopes.
Top five scores in each event:
25 Yard Benchrest - USBR Target
Sporter Master Points acccumulated = 11 Peary Willard - 248-5X (Great performance their Peary) 10 Danny Creasy - 244-8X (Proud of that X count) 9 Ricky King - 242-5X (Always strong from the bench with that Mk II) 8 Ulus Farris - 241-7X (Another high X count) 7 David Hollimon - 238-5X (representing the CZs today)
