Match Director, David Malone wrote the following match report for the June 27th CMP Sporter Match:

CMP has made it's return to NASA. All n all it was a pretty good day for shooting. It wasn't too hot and the wind wasn't whipping like normal. It sprinkled on us just a little bit. It was a Ruger show case as Don was the only shooter not shooting a 10/22. Scores were strong. I think I might have been the only one that was "rusty".

Amazing open sight scores! Everyone medaled today. It was good seeing Don and Lana. We all joked with Lana about her leaving Rex at home.

Dwight just walks out and shoots a 596 like nothing! To the best of my knowledge, he hasn't shot a CMP match in awhile. Wow that's crazy. I had the pleasure of scoring Don's 596, and you should have seen the groups he shot! His prone targets were one big hole dead center with two or three little holes around it. 44 X's! Everybody shot great, but the two 596's and Don's open sighted 590 were outstanding. Thanks David for putting the match together, very good job.
