Dear Friends, Well, let's just say that our regular Wednesday get togethers will be on sabbatical through now until sometime in March 2016. Unofficially, I'm going to continue come out on Wednesday mornings from 10 AM to 1 PM - starting this Wednesday (12/16/2015) - when the fates allow and I suggest the rest of us do that too. We'll continue to run our regular Saturday morning rimfire schedule (50/25, 25/25 & RFRF, cheap-ammo benchrest) and will be throwing in a few new matches to keep us interested. I'm thinking about a cheap-ammo rimfire handgun benchrest match and several iterations of our rimfire sniper matches. Wishing us all Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year! AQBill

I got out to the range a little before 9 and had the whole place to myself for two hours. Range report: I picked up two of the the little loose bulk packed 325 round cartons of Federal Auto Match a while back and having never used this particular cartridge before, I took two Eastern European sporters to the range to try it out. Kinda spotty in both rifles. CZ 452 Trainer with a Weaver Classic Rimfire 2.5-7X28 scope in Warne steel tip-off rings: Remington Model Five (Zastava) with a Nikon ProStaff 2-7X32 shotgun scope in Leupold steel tip-off rings: Here are the first 50 yard groups from both rifles out of fouled but cold barrels (1" Birchwood Casey flame dots): Here is the best 50 yard five shot group from the Trainer: Here is the best 50 yard five shot group from the Remington/Zastava: I fired half a dozen of so groups out of both rifles and most of them favored the first group more than these best ones.
