I collected a $1 fee per pistol at the 25/50 match last Saturday. My main goal was to reimburse the club treasury for the cost of targets and paint over the past year. A secondary goal was to promote more participation in the administration of the match by waiving the fee for shooters that would serve as safety officers, match directors, and score keepers.
Since the match, I have felt like the first goal is worthy but the second one probably probably lacks merit due to the fact, that we seem to get enough help just by asking for it.
I asked Dwight today what he thought about us simply charging every rimfire match competitor a $1 throughout the rest of September and October. These next few weeks should generate some of the best attended matches of the year. A couple of hundred bucks depostited to the club account would be a nice gesture. He concurred.
So, the North Alabama Shooting Association, Inc. will charge each rimfire match competitor a one dollar registration fee for the remainder of September and all of the month of October. This is a per shooter fee and not per gun fee. The relavant events are: 50/50 Sporter, 25/50 Pistol, Bench Rest Match, and CMP Sporter. There is no Raptor Match in this time frame - the next one is in November. The proceeds will be deposited to the club's bank account to reimburse the cost of targets and paint.
I have edited last week's 25/50 policy thread to reflect this change.
