Well, I have delayed this as long as possible. It is a hard call. After going outside several times, checking numerous weather sources, and getting a PM from a Colbert County shooter, I am cancelling the CMP Sporter Match.
It is in the low 40s with a windchill in the high 30s and it has been raining for the last hour with no let up. Soopdave reports the same in Muscle Shoals. There is much standing water and the range would be a cold swampy mess. It is just a flat out nasty day.
The range is open of course and if some of you want to hold a mini match of your own you are more than welcome to.

And a fine day indeed it was for a mini-match! The weather reports and range condition reports were accurate, but that didn't stop Paul Enlow, Randy King and I from burning some powder anyway. Just like in the full matches, the conversation was interesting and marksmanship was the challenge. Congratulations are in order for Paul, who earned a gold medal for his effort today. Randy seems to have his 10/22 action working like it should and shot for bronze, and I managed to short stroke a round in the rapid sitting stage. Seeing that live round fly off behind you is not exactly pleasant. Despite the conditions, it was still a good day to shoot, but then, what day isn't? See you guys at the range, David.
