I got a slow start this morning and pulled up in the NASA, Inc parking lot at 8:45. I had thought we would be lucky to get half a dozen shooters today with the low temps and bitter winds - danged if the parking lot wasn't full. They had the racks up (only put up three because they expected a light turnout) and the critters were painted.
Karen and I had swapped cars earlier in the week so she could get Katie back to college and I had not moved the score sheet tub back to my car - no score sheets! So, I grabbed a CMP Sporter target center from the officer shed, flipped it over, and slapped it on a clip board. I simply started registering the guys in strings of three and well, problem solved.
The temp was 21 at match start time and was up to about 30 by the time we finished at around 11:30. The flags fluttered the whole time. Inspite of these conditions, 13 shooters posted 22 scores.

Highlights and Lowlights
Eight year old Randy Brewster almost cleaned the rack with that snazzy 10/22 his Dad has put together for him.
It may have been cold but Jay Holman was as hot as a firecracker and only the very consistent Randy King prevented him from sweeping all three classes by edging Jay out by one silo in T Class. Way to shoot Jay and Randy K.
Nice sibling shootout there in O Class with JC and Drew posting 10/1 and 10/0 respectively.
Lot of turned silhouettes today. Wounded critters don't count. Heard "auhh man" quite often today.
I just couldn't get it together today. Got in the groove a couple of times but it never lasted long. At least killed a little chicken today - hadn't done that in a while. Was in good company - several mentioned a stubborn bird or pig that did them in today.
To all that participated today, thanks for the enthusiasm, great conversation, and especially the help in setting up, running, and taking down the match today. These matches are a joy to be in charge of with people like you.

This pre-match group shot missed a couple of participants but waiting until the end usually yields the same percentage (left to right) Ulus, Willie, David, Peary, Paul (giant hands), John, Jay, Randy, Danny, & Andrew
Any shooting enthusiast would get a kick out of the eclectic mix of rifles that show up at our matches
Boggined Andrew draws a bead with his Ultra Lux
Willie went with white paint today
Stalwart ROs keep an eye on their charges
Our lone prairie dogger shoots under the supervision of his Dad while a proud Mom watched just out of the pic
Racks parked until next week
Nothing left to do but give it a quick sweep and grab the rifle case
