Hello fellow shooters, we will be firing the scheduled CMP Rimfire Sporter Match this Saturday, due to the cold temperatures predicted we start later to allow for better Match conditions. The predicted Temperature for 8:00 is 26 deg, way under our old 45 degree rule. The range will open for setup at 9:00 but we will not start shooting until 10:30. This will allow plenty of setup time. I look foreword to a great day of shooting with you all.
Thanks Dwight

Cool!! Amy and I will be there about noon-20 after somewhere and will both be shooting! (Gonna have to roll my Remy mod5 trigger back up to 3 #'s I guess!! I LOVE the late start times...plenty of folks show up to shoot so it will still be going when we get there! I just found some new ammo I can't wait to try out that might work good for me...been having a hard time finding what my rifle likes lately...anyway we'll be there! It will be Amy's first CMP match and my second! We may need to beg/borrow a spotting scope from somebody generous if available...and Danny if you still have that loaner presure cuff daisey sling she may need it (I finally found one for myself) COOL!! We are excited!!

I keep it in my shooting bag all the time. But, I had not planned on shooting because it's my Saturday to work at the bank again. However, with Dwight's later start time of 10:30 a second string would be cranking up around 12:30. Only thing is, we have not been having enough shooters for a second string. If Dwight and company are chilled to the bone and ready to go after the first string, I will volunteer to run a second string of shooters starting at 1:00 PM. Amy, Jon, and I make three and there may be some second rifle shooters that want to join us (Jay, the King men, and the Butler men have been known to bring both O and T Rifles).

I am coming out to bring the scales and I will have my trusty Midway Shooting Mat and Spotting Scope in the Tool Box if anyone needs it. I probably wont shoot it but I am for sure going to get away from here for a few hours and come see the folks at the Range, ah who knows I might shoot it I don' know it is a full 36 hours away I guess I will decide when I get there. Hi guys. David King here. I have been trying to think of a way to thank all of you at NASA and not miss anyone, and this is the best way I can think of. It was such a great feeling when Danny and Reese walked in to see us the other night. I got a kick out of the card and was shocked at the money (you guys didn't have to do that, but thank you!) and had a real good visit. I have had two rounds of chemo, two more to go, and so far no ill affects at all. The entire treatment plan covers 3 years, but if all goes well I'll be back there doing what I enjoy so much with you guys pretty soon. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and well wishes, and keep me posted on what's going on there. Dave

Great to hear from you David. I got over to the range about a quarter to one and Dwight had a second string registering. I shot with David H, Jon Stratton, his wife Amy, and James Day. All bolt actions - which made it a bit simpler for Dwight to run us through the six strings. It was a beautiful afternoon. Dwight had a propane heater going that really kept the chill off. You may have physically been in B'ham but you were certainly shooting with us today. Your edged out Dwight for first with a 589-30X. You'll just have to bust the 590 ceiling next month.

I appreciate Dwight not setting the bar too high! I certainly hope and plan to reach the lofty status of a 590+ score some day and be able to say I'm almost as good a shot as you guys. Not only do you folks keep the game challenging, but the comraderie and brotherhood of common interests and the diversity of experiences everyone shares makes a Saturday at the range a day I always look forward to. See you there soon.
