CMP Rimfire Sporter Match - March 27, 2010
It was a beautiful day to be outside. It was very windy though. Had some first time shooters today. A big NASA, Inc. welcome to Robert Jones, John Milton, and Jason Simpson. All three broke 500 their first time out. Good start gentlemen.
Congratulations as well to Paul Enlow on a new personal best.

The day was getting kind of long and several shooters had things to take care of. So, we only had five left to try the fun match:
CMP Sporter Benchrest
Each shooter fired the same rifle and ammo that he used in the CMP Sporter Match (listed above)
Danny Creasy, 240-5X, group size = .21"
David Hollimon, 233-2x, group size = .37"
Randy King, 227-3X, no group
Paul Enlow, 223-0X, group size = .46"
Andrew Butler, 212-1X, group size = .55"
I liked Tony's five shot group challenge that he started a while back consisting of an optional five shot group fired at the USBR shield at the top right of the target. So, I tacked it on today. Unfortunately, I did not notice that Randy had already packed up. Everyone else's group lined up with their score in placing. It would have been interesting to see where Randy's would have fallen.
I shot the American a few years ago with a 6-18 variable on it in some online benchrest matches. It sure was easier to make hits on those little 1/10th inch circles with 18 power. But, all agreed that this was a neat and low key way to cool down at the end of the regular CMP Match. I forgot the camera this morning and I wanted to post pics of something. So, how about the five BR targets?
