Nine shooters ventured out on a beautiful July day to pick off steel chickens on the football field like rifle range. Good time had by all. Three first time shooters joined the Raptor ranks today (John, Gary, and Zack).
Congratulations to David Hollimon on his first NASA match victory - "ever". David, that is great my friend and you earned it.

I added a twist to the Raptor today and asked the shooters if they would try the same discipline with a couple of changes. First they would shoot offhand instead of from prone and second, we would change the target from the NRA rimfire chicken target (little chicken) to the NRA rimfire pistol target (big chicken). They were game and we decided to shoot two strings each. Here are the results (rifles, scopes, and ammo are the same as above):
2-1-3, Danny Creasy
2-2-4, James Day
3-3-6, Mike (Yes, that would be with the open sighted Marlin 39 again)
4-2-7- Tie Breaker 2, Keith McBrayer
4-3-7- Tie Breaker 4, John Savage
5-3-8, Ulus Farris
5-4-9, David Hollimon
